Car Glass Replacement Services We Offer

Your vehicle has multiple glass panels, each serving a specific role in safety, visibility, and structural support.

Here are the auto glass services we provide:

1. Windshield Replacement

The windshield is a laminated glass safety panel that directly supports your vehicle’s structural integrity and the airbag system. Elements like road debris, temperature changes, and minor impacts can cause chips and cracks over time.

While small chips can often be repaired, damage in the driver’s line of sight or larger cracks near the edges can compromise the windshield glass structurally, warranting replacement.

Modern windshields are also equipped with ADAS cameras and sensors that may require recalibration after replacement.

2. Rear Windshield Replacement

The rear windshield is made of tempered glass instead of laminated glass, which means you can’t repair it. Replacement is the only option in case of damage.

The rear glass is commonly damaged by impacts from road debris, hail, vandalism, or sudden temperature changes, which can cause stress fractures.

Most rear windshields also contain an embedded defroster grid, which is carefully reinstalled and tested as part of the auto glass service.

3. Car Door Glass Replacement

Car door glass, also known as side window glass, is the retractable pane on the front and rear doors. It can break due to road debris, accidental impacts, or thermal stress from extreme temperature changes.

Windows are usually made of tempered glass, which shatters into small pieces on impact, making car window repair impossible. So you’ll need a full replacement.

In some cases, auto glass technicians will also check and replace the power window regulator or motor.

4. Quarter Glass Replacement

Quarter glass sits behind the rear doors and above the rear wheel. It is commonly damaged by impacts, vandalism, or seal failure that can allow moisture to weaken the bond between the glass and the frame.

Your technician will replace the entire glass panel to ensure a proper seal that helps prevent wind noise and water leaks.

5. Vent Glass Replacement

Vent glass is the small, fixed or operable triangular pane within the door frame. Despite its size, it is vulnerable to the same causes of damage as other side glass.

A cracked or missing vent pane becomes an easy entry point for theft, making prompt replacement crucial for both safety and security.

6. Side Mirror Glass Replacement

Side mirror glass often gets damaged by passing vehicles, parking lot impacts, and general wear over time.

If the glass is the only damaged component and the housing and backing plate are intact, only the glass will need replacing. However, if the housing, electrical components, or backing plate are also compromised, a full mirror assembly replacement is necessary.

Modern side mirrors may include heated elements, auto-dimming technology, or blind spot cameras, all of which are factored into the auto glass service.

What Does the Car Glass Replacement Service Involve

When you book a mobile auto glass service with us, our expert technicians follow a consistent process to ensure every installation is safe, secure, and built to last.

Here’s what they’ll do:

  • Inspect the damage: Evaluate the damage and determine whether you need an auto glass repair or replacement.
  • Remove the damaged glass: Carefully cut the glass free and clear all fragments from the frame.
  • Prepare the surface: Clean the frame thoroughly to remove any remaining adhesive and debris, ensuring a secure bond.
  • Install the new glass: Apply the right adhesive, then carefully position and press the new glass panel into place.
  • Cure and inspect: Allow the adhesive to cure fully and inspect the installation. If you had a damaged windshield replaced, recalibrate any sensors and cameras affected by the replacement.

7 Clear Signs You Need Car Glass Replacement

If you tick any of the points from this checklist, it means your vehicle glass needs attention:

  1. Windshield damage, such as large or spreading cracks on the glass’s surface
  2. Shattered or missing glass
  3. Damage in the driver’s line of sight
  4. Cracks or chips near the edges of the glass
  5. White haze, cloudiness, or delamination
  6. Water leaks or wind noise around windows
  7. Any damage to the side, quarter, or rear glass

Why Is Timely Auto Glass Replacement Important?

Damaged auto glass, such as a cracked windshield, can obstruct your view of the road, making driving more dangerous, especially in poor weather or low-light conditions.

Vehicle glass also protects passengers from road debris, wind, rain, and outside elements. The windshield in particular helps support the vehicle’s structure during collisions or rollover accidents and contributes to proper airbag deployment.

Replacing damaged glass promptly prevents cracks from spreading, reduces the risks of water leaks or wind noise, and improves the overall appearance of your vehicle.

How Long Does Car Glass Replacement Take?

In most cases, a standard car glass replacement service takes about 1 to 2 hours.

However, timing may vary depending on the service type and complexity:

  • Windshield repair or replacement: Up to 60 minutes for a standard vehicle; a commercial vehicle may take longer depending on windshield size and complexity. On cars with ADAS cameras and sensors, recalibration can take an additional 30 to 60 minutes.NOTE: Avoid driving for at least an hour after a damaged windshield is replaced.
  • Rear windshield replacement: 1 to 2 hours. Time increases if the defroster grid, antenna, or embedded sensors require careful reconnection.
  • Car window replacement: 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on whether door panels need to be removed or the window regulator needs replacing.
  • Quarter and vent glass: 1 to 2 hours, depending on access and whether seals, clips, or molding also need to be replaced.

After installation, avoid slamming doors, rough roads, and car washes for at least 48 hours to prevent further glass damage and allow the adhesive to cure fully.

How Much Does Car Glass Replacement Cost?

Auto glass replacement costs vary depending on your vehicle’s make and model, and whether you opt for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or aftermarket parts.

That said, here are the general estimates (including labor charge):

  • Windshield repair: $50 to $100 (covers cracks and rock chip repair)
  • Windshield replacement: $200 to $2000+ (for ADAS-equipped models)
  • Rear windshield replacement: $200 to $600
  • Car window replacement: $150 to $450 (driver, passenger, or rear window)
  • Quarter glass replacement: $200 to $700+
  • Vent glass replacement: $100 to $300
  • Side mirror replacement: $75 to $1500

Does Insurance Cover Auto Glass Services?

In most cases, yes. If you have comprehensive coverage on your insurance policy, auto glass repair or replacement is likely covered.

Comprehensive auto insurance protects you against non-collision damage, like vandalism, hail, falling tree branches, or rock chips. However, if the glass was damaged during a collision, it would be covered under your collision coverage instead.

Once you’ve met your deductible, your insurer will cover the remaining cost. Remember that deductible amounts vary by policy, so the amount you pay will depend on your specific plan.

If you don’t have comprehensive coverage, repairs will need to be paid out of pocket entirely.  Always check with your auto insurance provider to confirm your coverage before booking a service.
